Inverter Batteries
Batteries are the essential part of any power backup system as they store power that can be used during the power cut. Most of the households need inverters to run their most necessary appliances in case of a power cut. These batteries are built by all major brands such as Exide, Amaron, Luminous and Microtek and come at very competitive prices ranging from around Rs. 1700 to Rs. 17000 and can be purchased online easily.

Things to Consider When Buying an Inverter Battery
When buying an inverter battery, you should consider the following factors:
- Capacity: Consider the capacity of the battery in terms of its voltage and amp-hours (Ah), which will determine how long it will be able to provide power.
- Compatibility: Make sure the battery is compatible with your inverter and meets its requirements in terms of voltage, amperage, and physical size.
- Maintenance: Consider the maintenance requirements of the battery, such as regular watering and cleaning.
- Brand: Choose a well-established brand with a good reputation for producing high-quality batteries.
- Warranty: Look for a battery with a good warranty that covers any defects or problems that may arise.
- Price: Consider the cost of the battery, but keep in mind that a higher-priced battery may have better quality and performance.
- Location: Consider the environment in which the battery will be used, including temperature, humidity, and other factors that can affect its performance and lifespan.
- Type: Decide whether you want a sealed maintenance-free battery, a vented battery with regular maintenance, or a hybrid battery that combines features of both.
By considering these factors, you can make an informed decision and choose an inverter battery that meets your needs and provides reliable performance.
Different Types of Inverter Batteries
There are mainly two types of inverter batteries for home use:
- Lead Acid Batteries – These are the most common type of inverter batteries used in homes. They are further classified into two types:
a. Flooded Lead Acid Batteries – These are the traditional type of lead acid batteries that require regular maintenance in terms of adding distilled water to the cells. They are cheaper compared to other types of batteries but have a shorter lifespan.
b. Sealed Lead Acid Batteries – Also known as Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries, these batteries are maintenance-free as they do not require any water top-ups. They are more expensive compared to flooded lead acid batteries but have a longer lifespan.
- Lithium-Ion Batteries – These are relatively new inverter batteries for home use. They are more expensive compared to lead-acid batteries, but they have a longer lifespan, faster charging time, and are more efficient in terms of energy storage. They are also maintenance-free, which means they do not require any regular maintenance.
