Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, has launched high-definition channels in Telugu and Tamil languages. With the launch of Star Sports 1 Telugu HD and Star Sports 1 Tamil HD, cricket fans can now enjoy the IPL 2023 matches in their preferred language.
This year, a total of 74 matches will be played in the tournament, and the Star Sports Network will be broadcasting all the matches on their TV channels in India. In addition, Star Utsav Movies, a free-to-air channel, will telecast some of the big matches. Disney, who previously held the streaming rights, lost out to Jio Cinema.

If you are an Airtel DTH or Tata Play DTH subscriber, accessing this channel is easy. On Airtel, Star Sports 1 Tamil HD is available on channel number 802, while on Tata Play, it is available on channel number 1551. The channel is priced at Rs 19 on Airtel and Rs 22.42 on Tata Play.
How to Add Channels on Airtel and Tata Play
If you are not already subscribed to Star Sports 1 Telugu HD or Star Sports 1 Tamil HD, you can easily add these channels to your existing Airtel or Tata Play DTH package. Follow the below steps to add the channels:
To add channels using the Airtel SMS service:
- Open the messaging app on your mobile phone and create a new SMS.
- In the message body, type ADD <Channel Code> and send it to 54325.
- Replace <Channel Code> with the code of the channel you want to add. For example, to add Star Sports 1 Telugu HD, type ADD 929 and send it to 54325.
- Wait for a confirmation message from Airtel stating that the channel has been added to your subscription.
To add channels using the Tata Play IVRS service:
- Dial the Tata Play customer care number (1800 208 6633) from your registered mobile number.
- Follow the prompts to reach the channel subscription menu.
- Enter the code of the channel you want to add when prompted. For example, to add Star Sports 1 Tamil HD, enter 1551 when prompted.
- Wait for a confirmation message from Tata Play stating that the channel has been added to your subscription.
